Black Friday and Cyber Monday are surely something of a godsend for new digital artists looking for decent gear like a new drawing tablet. And of course for those looking to upgrade as well. So we’ve gathered a few of the best Black Friday deals for pen tablets and displays available on Amazon.
Pen Tablets
Wacom
Intuos Pro S (Wired) – $60 (was $80)
This is a great discount on a solid entry-level tablet suitable for beginners and also graphic designers that might not need a large working area.
You get 4 customizable express keys, a 6×3.7″ active area, and 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. US users will also get 3 different software options when they register they product. If you are unsure of what drawing software to use, I recommend Clip Studio Paint Pro which you get a 2 year license key for.
XP-Pen
Deco Pro Medium – $110.50 (Was $130)
This is a tablet I recommend and have been using for digital painting over the last year and a half. You can find a review of the Deco Pro HERE.
You get a 11×6″ active area, 8 customizable keys, a mechanical and virtual wheel, and 60 degrees of tilt. It’s compatible with some Android devices and also suiable for left-handed people.
The Small size, which I’m using, is also available with a 20% discount coupon making it $80
Deco 01 v2 – $56 (Was $70)
The Deco 01 v2 has been updated from its previous model to also include tilt recognition. Roughly the same price at the Wacom Intuos S but with a much bigger active area. If the mechanical wheel and design of the Deco Pro isn’t too important, then this is a great option.
You get a 10×6.25″ active area, 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, 60 degrees of tilt, 8 customize-able express keys. It’s compatible with some Android devices and also suiable for left-handed people.
If budget is a little tighter than this, check out the Deco Mini 7 which is slightly smaller but has all the same features and design for $40.
Pen Displays
XP-Pen
Artist 24 Pro – $675 (Was $900)
The Artist 24 Pro is XP-Pen’s biggest display tablet and boasts a 2K/QHD display. At this size, that higher resolution display definitely makes a difference.
You get the standard features of 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt recognition, express keys and the popular red dial. Actually, you get double that with buttons and a wheel on both sides of the display.
Innovator 16 – $400 (Was $500)
I love the design of the Innovator. Maybe because of it’s similarity to the Deco Pro. It has a slightly better brightness and colour specs, and is the latest release from XP-Pen.
You get 8 customizable keys, a mechanical and virtual wheel. It’s incredibly this at only 9mm. It’s a fully laminated display so the gap between where your pen rests and the mark you make on the screen is minor.
With fairly similar specs and size, the Artist 15.6 Pro is also available for $320.
Artist 13.3 Pro Holiday Edition – $280 (was $350)
To add to the festive season, XP-Pen also have a holiday edition of their Artist 13.3 Pro. 8 customizable buttons, a red dial, tilt and 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity.
With this you also get an art print poster, a jigsaw puzzle, and shortcut icon stickers for your tablet’s buttons.
All-in-One/Stand-Alone
Samsung S6 Lite – $300 (Normally $400)
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite with S-Pen is the affordable non-Apple option I tend to recommend. It’s great for someone starting out or on a budget, and who needs that portability. It comes with the S-pen as well rather than having the stylus as an option extra purchase. Exclusive to the Galaxy store is also a 6-month free trial of Clip Studio Paint.
Ipad 10.2 (2019) – $300 (Normally $330, excludes Apple Pencil)
If you prefer to use Apple products, the iPad with the Apple Pencil is a great choice for a portable drawing tablet. Main factors here will be budget, screen size, and performance. For beginner who will just be using it for drawing, the the 8th Gen Ipad together with the Apple Pencil. Best app for it? Procreate, hands down.
